About Courtney Love

Courtney Michelle Love (born Courtney Michelle Harrison; July 9, 1964) is an American rock musician and actress. Love is primarily known as lead singer, guitarist and lyricist for the alternative rock band Hole and for her marriage to the late Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain. Love made her debut into the entertainment industry with a supporting role in Alex Cox's Sid and Nancy (1986), and later transitioned into music, forming Hole in 1989. She has occasionally taken film roles throughout her career, including a major part in The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996), for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe. Love continued her position as lead singer for Hole in various incarnations until 2002, when the group disbanded; it re-formed with new members in 2009, with Love resuming as lead singer and lyricist.
